Bucks County Community Connections
The Mental Health/Mental Retardation program is responsible for the
administration of services to Bucks County residents with a mental
illness or mental retardation, and their families. The purpose of the
services is to support individuals to live in the community and to
assist them in actively participating in community life.

Mental Health Program
Services are provided at a variety of agencies located throughout the
County. Services include: Crisis Services, Outpatient Therapy, Partial
Hospitalization, Community Treatment Teams, Administrative Case
Management, Intensive Case Management, Resource Coordination.
Housing services include: Adult Respite, Intensive, Maximum and
Moderate Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR), and Supported
Living.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services include: Clubhouse, Psycho-Social
Programs and Consumer Run Drop In Centers. Vocational and Employment
services are also available.
Children's services include: Outpatient Therapy, Partial
Hospitalization, Intensive Case Management, Family Based Mental Health
Services, School Based services, Student Assistance Program, and the
L.I.F.E. program which provides parent advocacy, education and
information and referral services.
Mental Retardation Program
Services include: Case Management/Service Coordination, Family Driven
Support Services, Information and Referral and Consultation and
Education.
Residential Services include: Home Based, Family Living, Supported
Living and Community Living Arrangements (CLA). The Program also
administers Vocational Services, Competitive Employment, Vocational
Rehabilitation and Adult Training.
In addition, the Program administers Early Intervention Services. Early
Intervention (EI) is an entitlement service designed to meet the
developmental needs of eligible children and their families. Children
are eligible for EI throughout the County if they are between the ages
of birth and three years; and have a delay of 25% or greater in any one
of the following five developmental areas: cognitive, communication,
physical, social emotional or adaptive, or have a diagnosed physical or
mental condition which has a high probability of resulting in
developmental delay.
