Vision
The Mental Health/Mental Retardation system will be a partnership of
consumers, family member, service providers and policy makers, which
creates options responsive to individual needs and preferences.
How to Request Mental Retardation Services in Berks County
Contact Service Access and Management and request to speak with an
Intake worker from the Supports Coordination Unit. The telephone number
is 610-236-0530.
Waiver Description
Person/Family Directed Support Waiver - state and federally funded
program that provides support for individuals with mental retardation.
This waiver is available to individuals age 3 and over.
Medicaid 2176 Waiver - state and federally funded
program that provides support for individuals with mental retardation.
This waiver program is available for individuals age 3 and over.
Once you are determined eligible for mental retardation services, the
supports coordinator will assist you in determining how your services
will be funded. Funding for waiver services is dependent on the type of
service you need as well as the amount of money provided by OMR. The
amount of money given to counties is based on the Annual Plan that is
submitted to this state office.
How to Request Mental Health Services in Berks County
If you wish to receive mental health services and you have Medical
Assistance (ACCESS), you must obtain authorization through Community
Care Behavioral Health.
In order to receive mental health services without insurance, you must
obtain authorization through Service Access and Management.
